Current account and attached services

What does IBAN mean?

The International Bank Account Number or IBAN is a an international standard for numbering bank accounts developed ECBS (European Committee for Banking Standards) in order to improve the payments system in the European Union. In Romania, the code is composed of 24 characters.

How can I find out what’s the balance of my account?

There are different ways in which you can request your Millennium Bank account balance:

In person, visiting any Millennium Bank Romania branch, and presenting your valid identity card or valid passport;

In case you have a debit card attached to the current account, the balance can be enquired at ATM. You can also check your balance free of charge through Internet Baking and Call Centre - you just have to be enrolled for these services. 

Why should I choose a package?

Why should I choose the overdraft?

Loans

What kind of insurance is required for a mortgage loan for acquisition of a home?

In case you apply for a mortgage loan, it is necessary to sign the insurance for that building for covering the loan period, and paying an annual/ semiannual premium directly to the insurance company. You can have this insurance issued at the bank with Interamerican Romania Insurance Company for 0.215% / year from the real estate value.

What kind of conditions is required in case I would like to use my land as a mortgage for a loan?

The land has to fulfill the following conditions:

  • to be considered an inland and constructible
  • free form any burdens

 

Savings products

Which is the minimum amount in order to create a deposit?

In order to create a deposit at Millennium Bank it is necessary to have minimum 500 RON, 200 EUR or 200 USD.

Can I periodically deposit a certain amount after the deposit has been created?

If you have a Standard Term Deposit, you have the possibility to increase the deposit amount at roll over date. Minimum amount for each increase: 500 RON/ 200 EUR/ 200 USD

If you have a Saving Account, you can deposit money in the account at anytime with no amount limitation

 

Cards

Can more credit cards be issued on my account?

Yes, you can ask for many supplementary cards for your family members linked to your credit card limit.

Can more debit cards be issued on my account?

Yes, you can ask for many supplementary cards linked to your primary cards’ account.

What does the grace period represent for a credit card?

The grace period available for credit cards represents the maximum number of days when your merchant transactions are not being charged with interest. The maximum 55 days period is available for merchant payments provided that you repay all the used amounts at due date.

 

Internet Banking

To whom is the Internet Banking service addressed?

Internet Banking is available for individuals who have a Millennium Bank account. In case you hold a Millennium Bank package, the service is provided free of charge.  In order to access this service, you must sign a contract with the bank.

How do I change Password1 and Password2?

To change Password1 or Password2 click on the “User Profile” tag, then select “Password Manager” to change Password1 and/or Password2.

What should I do if I forgot or lost Password1?

Please go to a Millennium Branch to collect an envelope with a new Password1.

What should I do if I forgot or lost Password2?

Please go to an ATM with a Millennium debit or credit card to generate a new Password2.

At the next login to Internet Banking, the system will enforce the change of the Password2.

What do I do if Password1 is blocked? 

Please call 0 801 000 111 and request Internet Banking password unblocking.

How do I change the Transaction Limit?

Please address in person a request to change the Transaction Limit at any Millennium Bank location.

Can I change the time-out settings in Internet Banking?

The time-out duration can be changed in “User Profile” - “Security Settings” by selecting “High”, “Medium”, or “Low”, or by specifying the time in minutes (maximum time-out duration is 15 minutes).

How do I check if a transfer was made?

You can check this in “Detailed Information” on the account from which the transfer was made.

How do I view account details from two or three months before?

The account history for previous months is fully available and, in order to obtain information about previous months, you can use "Current Accounts", choose account, and next “Show Filters” and select the desired time frame.

You can also download and save the account history for previous months to your disk by choosing the "Account activity" option, marking the account and choosing the month and the file format.

Is there any amount required to open a Current account?

No, there is no such a requirement for current account opening.

Is it possible to perform the transfers with future payment date?

Yes. You can perform such transactions via Internet Banking. You can do this for pre-defined beneficiaries and for ones not already defined. Of course, you need to follow the authorisation rules that are valid for the specific current account.

When do I have to announce a large cash withdrawal?

Any cash withdrawal above 10.000 EUR (or equivalent) must be scheduled 48 hours in advance. 

How can I obtain the transaction confirmation?

The easiest, fastest and cheapest (practically free) way is to print a confirmation of the performed transaction from Internet Banking. Of course, you can ask for the confirmation in the branch, but it will take more time and it is subject to a fee.

 

Internet Banking

To whom is the Internet Banking service addressed?

Access to accounts through the Internet Banking system is available to legal entities which have current accounts with Millennium Bank.

What is the Internet Certificate for?

The Internet Certificate is installed in the user’s computer and is used to identify the Customer when logging in to the Internet Banking system.

How can the Internet Certificate be downloaded and installed?

The Internet Banking Service provides download and installation of the Internet Certificate through the option “User Management” – “Request Certificate” using the Certificates Download Code.

How do I add new users in the company?

The Internet Banking system does not restrict the number of users with access to the Customer’s account. When signing the agreement in the Bank the Customer is given access for one or two users. These users can not perform transaction.

In order to make transactions, further users are added directly in the Internet Banking system. The data of a new user is entered in the “User management” - “Create new User” option. After you create a new user, print the Form „Activate Secondary User” and send this to be bank in order to be activated.

How do I change the user Password?

To change your own Password select “Profile” - “Password manager”. In “Profile” Security settings can be adjusted for frequency of Password change reminders (in days).

The default setting is 7 days and it can be adjusted up to a maximum of 60 days.

Can I change the timeout setting in Internet Banking?

A break in activity while being logged in to the Internet Banking system will result in an automatic logout if the break is longer than the maximum timeout.

The timeout duration can be changed after login in “Profile” - “Security Settings” by selecting: “High”, “Medium” or “Low” or by entering the preferred duration in minutes (maximum timeout is 15 minutes).

How can I check if a transfer was made?

Performance of a transfer by the system can be checked in “Assets” - “Current Accounts” - “Detailed information” after selecting from the list the account on which the transaction was done.

Can I add my own database of Beneficiaries to the one in Internet Banking?

Yes, you can add your own database of Beneficiaries, built in text (.txt) format to the one in the Internet Banking system. To do this, select “Beneficiaries” - “List” and then click on “Upload file”. You can also record the database of beneficiaries created in the Internet Banking system on your computer. To do this, use the “Download” option.

What is the Certificates Download Code? 

The Certificates Download Code (CDC) is a sequence of alphanumeric characters (numbers and/or letters) used to authorize the Digital Certificate download operation in Internet Banking system. During this operation, the system asks to provide three randomly chosen characters. The CDC can be used a maximum 20 times before it expires.

How can I order a new Certificates Download Code? 

        • Ordering for the fist time:
  1. For new Internet Banking Customers, the first Certificates Download Code (CDC) is delivered by the Bank to the person appointed by Customer.

    Internet Banking Customers must use a Digital Certificate in order to access the system. Digital Certificates can be obtained only by using the CDC.

    • Renewing the Certificates Download Code:
  2. A customer can order new Certificates Download Code via the Internet Banking system using the “User management” - “Order CDC” option.

    Your request for a new CDC must be submitted using the last of 20 valid downloads available for each CDC. The Internet Banking system will inform you what the number of remaining valid CDC downloads is.

    Alternatively, the CDC can always be renewed by ordering it in person from any Millennium location.
